Living a Happy Life
1Pe 1:8 Whom having not seen, ye love; in whom, though now ye see him not, yet believing, ye rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory:
I heard a song on the radio some weeks ago, it consisted of words of wisdom for living.
Perhaps, from a worldly perspective, there was some good practical advice on how to live well.
And in case you’re wondering it’s not "if you’re happy and you know it clap your hands.”
The song was called “Wear Sunscreen”
Make of it what you will.
There are many pearls of wisdom that a person can find, when it comes to living a happy fulfilled life, but none compare with what the Word of God has for us.
Sometimes life is difficult, and we think that there should be a handbook for all that we will face, well the Bible is that handbook.
Not every conceivable situation that you face is going to be in the bible, but the principals in the bible are timeless and applicable for all that you deal with.
How often do people reach for the bookshelf, to find advice for problems they may face in business, relationship, children and home life and so on?
Sadly though, the bible is ignored.
Good books can be a great help, please don’t misunderstand me. I use and love reading books. The Apostle Paul recognised the great value of books.
2Ti 4:13 The cloke that I left at Troas with Carpus, when thou comest, bring with thee, and the books, but especially the parchments.
He wanted Timothy to bring him books to read, but he desired especially the parchments.
We do not know precisely what the parchments were; they may well have been the originals of the epistles that he wrote.
Paul desired books, but above all he would desire the word of God.
But the greatest book, it is the book of all books, is the Bible The word of God.
The answer that you seek is going to be in the bible, Gods word to man.
Psa 19:7 The law of the LORD is perfect, converting the soul: the testimony of the LORD is sure, making wise the simple.
Psa 19:8 The statutes of the LORD are right, rejoicing the heart: the commandment of the LORD is pure, enlightening the eyes.
Psa 19:9 The fear of the LORD is clean, enduring for ever: the judgments of the LORD are true and righteous altogether.
Psa 19:10 More to be desired are they than gold, yea, than much fine gold: sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb.
Psa 19:11 Moreover by them is thy servant warned: and in keeping of them there is great reward.
Living a happy and blessed life is a by- product of a life that is built upon the principals in the word of God.
The bible encourages us to:
Consider who we are and who we belong to
Count our blessings and not our troubles
Commit our ways to God
Continue in the Love of God
Conform to the will of God
